Calvary John James Hospital

Patient Information

Thank you for considering Calvary John James Hospital, a service of the Sisters of the Little Company of Mary, for your hospital stay.

Your doctor will have provided you with an admission pack which needs to be completed and returned to the hospital to confirm your booking.  These forms also provide us with information so that we can provide any special care that you may require. We also strongly suggest that you contact your Private Health Insurance fund to ensure that you are covered for your procedure and stay.

You may be asked to attend a Pre-Admission Clinic appointment and this is an important part of your hospital care and helps us further prepare for your stay.  This will enable us to discuss your expectations whilst in hospital and to ensure that your admission on the day of surgery is well planned, relaxed, and not rushed for you or the staff.

Before admission please let your doctor know what medicines you are taking including prescription, non-prescription, and complementary medicines.  It is important that your Doctor and the hospital staff know exactly what medicines you are taking as medicines can adversely react with your treatment.  Your doctor can tell you which medicines you need to stop before your surgery (if any) and when to stop taking them.  If you require a medical certificate for time off from work please contact your doctor's rooms.

We advise you to leave valuables such as jewellery, large amounts of cash (unless you are paying an excess or copayment on admission) and electronic items at home as we cannot take responsibility for them if they are lost or stolen.

We wish you a pleasant stay at Calvary John James Hospital and would appreciate you taking the time to provide us with some feedback via the FEEDBACK icon on the main page.
