Rights and Responsibilities

Based on our values of hospitality, healing, stewardship and respect, the management and staff of Calvary John James Hospital recognises, protects and promotes the rights of each person receiving care, the partnership with health care providers and ensures that personal dignity and autonomy are upheld at all times.

Privacy Policy

We believe that our patients can feel safe in the knowledge that we safeguard their personal health information ensuring that confidentiality is respected and information is stored securely. The hospital is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulation and in accordance with the highest ethical standards.

We collect information that is necessary for the provision of your health care.  This may include collecting information about your health history, family history, ethnic background or your current lifestyle to assist the health care team in diagnosing and treating your condition. Our staff will always endeavour to be sensitive to your needs when obtaining personal health information.

You have a right to access your health record and to request an amendment to your health record should you believe it contains inaccurate information. Should you wish to access your health record ask for our Director of Clinical Services who can give you more detailed information about how to access your health record.
