About Us - Our Organisation

Calvary John James is an Employer of Choice for Women

Employer of Choice for Women acknowledges women-friendly, non-government organisations with Equal Opportunity (EO) programs that recognise and advance their female workforce.  This includes policies such as paid maternity leave, flexible work arrangements to balance work / life priorities and professional development opportunities for staff.

 Professional Development for All Staff

Calvary John James Hospital is proud to offer professional development training to all staff.  Permanent staff are supported and funded to complete a Certificate II, III, IV and Diploma in their non-clinical industry.

Clinical Staff  are also supported to complete a Certificate III and IV in Front Line Management and Training and Assessment.

The hospital has a strong  focus on professional development and supporting staff to reach their potential.  This support is provided through four educators  -  a Clinical Educator to assist new graduates and nurses returning to the workforce, a Maternity Educator, a Theatre Educator and a Non-Clinical Training and Development Officer.

Buddy Program for New Staff

The hospital has recently commenced a Buddy Program to assist new staff in their first few months of working in a new organisation.  Our Buddies are both clinical and non-clinical staff that have volunteered to make sure our new staff have one on one support from their first day on the job.
